A rapid high throughput lab scale test facility dedicated to ablation testing using hot gas is located in The Corral Laboratory. Free stream gas flow conditions have been fully characterized and simulated using CFD using experimental measurement. A high-temperature optical pyrometer is constructed in observation with ASTM E-285-80. Achievable torch testing conditions are listed below:
